Accessibility, it’s the law

I am a passionate about making the world as accessible as reasonably possible for those who have mobility limitations. In 1990, 34 years ago, the Americans with Disabilities Act became law. Here in the Morgan County judicial system we continue to face barriers. It is true the ADA allows accommodations to be made for facilities which existed prior to the laws passage. But we have had more than 30 years to get past making accommodations. Asking for an accommodation single the person out and makes them feel that being different is a problem. We should be past that by now. What is needed is to move the County Court to an accessible location. It should be moved to the courthouse where everyone may enter as equals.
